The design review is a critical stage in the procurement of power transformers.  This is the last chance to ensure that the Client is really getting what he needs and consists of a joint review between the customer and the supplier of transformers.

Cigre StudyCommittee A2 (previously SC12) has produced “Guidlines for conducting design reviews..”  which quote:

“A design review is a planned exercise to ensure there is a common understanding of the applicable standards and specification requirements, and to provide an opportunity to scrutinise the design to ensure the requirements will be met, using the manufacturers proven materials and methodology.”
